Looking for a Bit of "Normal"...

I'm trying to get back to some sort of routine and thought a blog post might be a good step toward that goal.

Last week we learned that, sadly, due to the extent of damage caused by the stroke, my mother will not be able to return home and will need to be placed into long-term care...a conclusion that we had basically reached on our own after watching her progress over the previous two weeks...but having the news delivered to us from across a table by a team of medical professionals made it totally real and finite.  This has been a difficult and trying time on so many levels.  I'm doing my best to adjust to this new reality and to support my mother the best I can.

With today being St. Patrick's Day and my mother coming from Irish heritage, I decided to make her a card which I'll give to her later today when we visit.  It felt good to get back to my scraproom to create something and I hope to do more of the same this coming week.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Until next time...
Susan :-)

  1. I have been thinking of you, and sad that your mom will not be able to go home. That is hard news to hear. I am glad you got in your scrappy room. A little paper therapy is always good. Your card is beautiful and I am sure your mom will love it. I hope you have a good visit today.

  2. Oh I love this card Susan. Mom will really love it too. Suddenly my store bought card is not looking so good. hee hee Yay to scrappy therapy. We need it lately. I spy some "Origins" in the card!

  3. I'm so sorry to hear this Susan. That's hard. Thinking about you all on St Patrick's Day

  4. A very lovely card. Mom will love it. We could most certainly use some "luck of the Irish" dbnl
